Duke, meanwhile, was peering at the photo of the corpse.
“We found that this morning,” Dwight said. “Lucassi said the sand got so hot it turned to glass and the victim was trapped inside.”
“This was here. In Haven.” Duke had been away too long if he had to ask that.
“You recognize it?”
“It’s called a fulgurite. It happens when lightning hits the sand. Doesn’t usually have human bodies in it though.”
Nathan lifted his chin to Lucifer. “More weather. . . . Marion Caldwell.”
